Any real “debate” about gun control laws in the U.S. ended many years ago, and the NRA won. The only thing that changes is that gun control laws (whatever few that existed) have become more and more lax over the years, thanks to lobbying money from the NRA. It is easier than ever for anyone, including the mentally unstable, to purchase automatic assault weapons with minimal or no background checks or waiting periods — thanks to the efforts of the NRA.
